Penda has had three calves since we have started our research. Tragically we believe her first calf died at just over a month old. However she has gone on in the Watamu tradition of strong females to successfully raise two more youngsters. Her latest calf is called Cassie and is seen attached to mother’s side where she will remain for two years until she is fully weaned. .
